Regional Law No. 1888-OZ “On implementation by regional state bodies some powers of the Russian Federation in the field of forest relations”.

This Regional Law establishes that regional executive body in the field of nature management shall have the following powers: (a) allotment of forest plots of forest fund in permanent (open-ended) use, lease, and free-of-charge management; (b) conclusion of purchase and sale contract of forest plantations located in forest fund; (c) preparation, organization and conduct of tenders for conclusion of lease and purchase and sale contracts related to public and municipal forest plots; (d) application of servitude to forest plots located within the boundaries of forest fund; (e) protection of public forest, including protection against forest fires; (f) performance of forest surveying; (g) planning of forest plots within forest fund; (h) drafting Regional forest management plan; (i) forest inventory; (j) forest service supervision in forest fund; and (k) registration of timber extracted by natural persons for individual personal needs in forest fund.
