Regional Law No. 1890-OZ “On some issues in the field of organization, protection and management of protected areas”.

This Regional Law regulates some issues in the field of organization, protection and management of protected areas pertaining to the competence of the regional state bodies. Taking into account the peculiarities of the regime of protected areas, those of regional significance shall be classified as (a) state nature reserves; and (b) natural monuments. Authorized regional state body in the field of organization, protection and management of protected areas shall be as follows: (a) decision-making on setting up natural reserves of regional significance, establishment of tasks and protection regime thereof; (b) coordination decisions of the Government of the Russian Federation on reorganization of state nature reserves of federal significance into state nature reserves of regional significance; (c) declaration of proclamation of natural objects and complexes nature monuments of regional significance; (d) establishment of the procedure of regional state ecological supervision over regional protected areas; (e) decision-making related to modification of boundaries and protection regime of protected areas of regional significance; (f) decision-making on cancellation of protected areas of regional significance; and (g) appointment of the authorized regional executive body in the field of organization, protection and management of protected areas of regional significance.
