Regional Law No. 68-kz “On some issues in the field of maintenance of ameliorative protective forest plantations and implementation of measures for their preservation.”

This Regional Law regulates certain issues related to the maintenance of ameliorative protective forest plantations on agricultural land plots or on land plots designated for agricultural production, which pertain to regional state ownership, and implementation of measures for their preservation. Performance of measures for the maintenance and preservation of ameliorative forest plantations located on land plots non transferred to third parties, is carried out by the regional state budgetary institutions subordinated to the authorized body in accordance with the requirements established by the legislation of the Russian Federation and the regional legislation. Selective cutting and clear cutting of trees and shrubbery in ameliorative protective forest plantations shall be authorized in the following cases: (a) construction, reconstruction and operation of power lines, communication lines, roads, pipelines, other linear objects and constructions, that are an integral technological part of the above facilities, unless it is not prohibited or restricted by the legislation of the Russian Federation and the regional legislation of Stavropol Territory – in accordance with authorization; and (b) prevention and elimination of emergency situations of natural and technogenic character – no authorization required.
