Abstract
This Order, which is composed by 5 Chapters, determines the mission, responsibilities, organization and functioning of the Rwanda Biomedical Centre.
As detailed by Chapter 2, the Centre has, among his responsibilities, the coordination and monitoring of the implementation of health promotion, disease prevention, diagnostic and treatment programmes; the implementation of high impact interventions aimed at improving maternal, child and adolescent health and ensure that blood products and vaccines are safe, effective and available at all levels of the health system; the coordination of activities related to healthcare technology and equipment; the prevention and control of epidemic diseases and other public health emergencies in Rwanda through the implementation of an effective and efficient epidemiological surveillance and response system; the contribution to activities of financial sustainability of the health sector; the coordination of the planning of all activities related to pharmaceutical products and medical equipment including their procurement for government health facilities.
The text then deepens the organization and functioning of the Centre at Chapter 3 and the property and finance related issues at Chapter 4. Chapter 5 brings final provisions.
