Abstract
The Act provides rules relative to the carrying out of experiments on any living vertebrate animal.
No person except a licensee shall perform any experiment. Except as otherwise provided no licensee shall perform any experiment except for specified purposes. The licences shall be granted by the Minister, who may also grant special permits authorizing the licensee to perform such experiment without administering any anaesthetic to the animal or without killing the animal before it recovers from the influence of an anaesthetic.
