Abstract
These Regulations apply the Vessel Day Scheme to Purse Seine Fishing in the Solomon Islands Exclusive Economic Zone. The Vessel Day Scheme as agreed upon by the Parties to the Palau Arrangement, i.e. the Arrangement of 1992 (as amended) established to limit the number of purse seine vessels operating in the PNA waters. They place restrictions on granting of foreign purse seine vessel licences and provides for the apportionment of fishing days based on the length of the vessel. The Regulations shall not apply to Vessels licenced pursuant the FSM Arrangement and Fisheries (U.S.A) (Treaty) (Cap.39).
