Abstract
Any person, other than those specified in section 3, who sells or buys or offers to buy or sell species of any plant, fish, reptile, bird, crustacean, fungus or insect declared to be protected species pursuant to the present Ordinance or any product obtained from protected species shall be guilty of an offence. Protected species are declared to be such by the Temotu Provincial executive pursuant to section 4. The same officer may declare protected places, i.e. habitats or breeding grounds of protected species under section 5. Other provisions of this Ordinance concern disturbance of protected species or habitats, powers of officers, the register of protected species and habitats (sect. 9), and offences.
