Abstract
This legal document, made under the Plant Pests Act contains a Notice declaring the whole of the island Mahe to be infected with scale insects attacking coconut and other palms and Regulations enacted consequently to the Notice. The Regulations introduce measures to fight the spreading of the disease and, for this purpose, prohibit the removal of coconut leaves from Mahe to any other part of Seychelles and grant powers to any officer of the Agricultural Department to destroy any coconut leaves or coconut leaf baskets found on any vessels directed from Mahe to another part of Seychelles.

Reprinted version of 1991 of S.I. No.8 of 1926.Notwithstanding the repeal of the Plant Pest Act a statutory instrument made under that Act which is in force at the commencement of this Act shall, so far as the statutory instrument is not inconsistent with this Act, continue in force until it is amended or repealed by a statutory instrument made under this Act.
