Abstract
This Act concerns the protection of customers against unfair or illegal practices and appoints the Fair Trading Commission as the authority responsible for the administration of this Act with the objective of promoting and advancing the welfare of consumers. “Goods” means any goods, including animals or agricultural produce reared or grown for supply. “Agricultural produce” means any produce, whether of the soil or otherwise, of stock-farming or of fisheries. The Act requires goods to be of fair value, good quality and safety. A party dissatisfied with an order or direction of the Commission may appeal to the Tribunal established under the Fair Trading Commission Act.
