Abstract
These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 80(1)(c) read with section 32(1)(b) of the Environment Protection Act, 2016. They prohibit any person from engaging in commercial waste service without a registration certificate issued by the Landscape and Waste Management Agency and a licence issued under the Licences Act (Cap 113). Waste services means the collection, handling, transportation, treatment, disposal, processing or trade of any waste or the undertaking of any activity connected thereto. Regulation 4 lays down the procedure to obtain registration certificate. Regulation 5 requires the waste contractor to dispose of the waste at the approved waste disposal site for that waste class. The regulations in respect of waste collection contract for outdoor events, power to conduct site visits by the Agency, suspension of waste contractors by the Agency and appeals are made.
