Fisheries and Aquaculture (Designation of Restricted Fishing Zones) Regulation, Statutory Instrument no. 14 of 2026.

These Regulations, made by the Minister under provisions of sections 11 and 145 of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Act, 2025, designate specified areas of Seychelles waters, described in the Schedules as restricted fishing zones. The Regulations define the following relevant terms: local vessel; foreign vessel; restricted fishing zone; Seychelles industrial vessel; Seychelles registered vessel; support vessel. The Regulations detail the following prohibited activities in any restricted fishing zone: engaging in fishing or any related activity from a local vessel licensed for tuna or tuna-like species, from a foreign vessel and a joint venture vessel, from a Seychelles registered and industrial vessel; providing assistance in fishing or such related activities. Exemptions from the prohibitions are provided for research purposes.
