Abstract
This Act, divided into four parts and consisting of 24 sections, establishes the Seychelles Tourism Board and specifies its functions: marketing and promoting Seychelles as a tourist destination; developing, implementing and coordinating a national tourism marketing strategy that promotes all various tourism segments; providing leadership and strategic direction to both the government and the private sector on matters regarding tourism and destination marketing; conducting market research and analysis of local and international travel trends to inform and enhance the effectiveness of marketing strategies for the destination; disseminating correct and necessary information to tourists both locally and internationally about the tourism sector; planning and coordinating tourism-related events and activities, locally and internationally, that contribute to the promotion of the destination and enhance visitor experience; promoting and supporting local initiatives developed by the Ministry aligned with national tourism objectives. Further matters covered by this Act include: procedural matters; functions of the Board; financial provisions and funds of the Board; application of certain penal code provisions.
