Abstract
This Act establishes the Reconciliation and National Unity Commission as a body corporate, which may receive complaints regarding alleged violations during the 1977 Coup D'état. The list of violations includes, among other things, forceful eviction from legally owned building or land. The Commission shall have the power to investigate on such violations and to determine appropriate reparations for victims and 'appropriate rehabilitation for victims and perpetrators; and to grant amnesty. The Commission .shall abide by universally recognised legal principles and human rights norms.
