Water Supply (Prevention of Waste) Regulations, 1965 (S.I. No. 79 of 1965).

Any person who wastes water or allows water to be wasted shall be guilty of an offence (sect. 2). The Director of Public works may cut off the water supply to persons who continue to waste water (sect. 3). A state of drought may be declared; the powers of the Director of Public Works during the declared period of drought are defined in sections 5 and 6.
