Wild Animals and Birds Protection (Bronze Gecko) Regulations, 2021 (S.I. 51 of 2021).

These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Wild Animals and Birds Protection Act, 1961. Regulation 3 declares the Bronze Gecko as protected and Regulation 4 lists the prohibited activities including sale, purchase, possession, capture, killing, exhibiting or export of Bronze Gecko. Regulation 6 contains exceptions and empowers the Minister to allow a person to capture or export a living, preserved or stuffed Bronze Gecko for (a) scientific or conservation related purpose; or (b) for the purpose of shifting or relocating the Bronze Gecko from an unnatural habitat to its natural habitat.
