Abstract
The aim of this Law is to lay down regulations and rules for the management of the quarantine. This Law is composed of 4 Chapters divided into 58 articles and 5 Annexes. Chapter 1 deals with terms and definitions. Chapter 2 provides for the following matters: (a) regulations; (b) communication of databases; (c) sanitary regulation in ports; (d) sanitary procedures and measures; (e) issuance of certificates; (f) protection against marine pollution; and (g) measures and procedures against polluted ships or planes. Chapter 3 specifies diseases which shall be subjected to quarantine. Chapter 4 pertains to international certificates and sanitary taxes and fees. Annex I contains Rat Extirpation Certificate. Annex II is the form of an international certificate of vaccination against cholera. Annex III is the form of an international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever. Annex IV is the form of an international certificate of vaccination against smallpox. Annex V contains the information about the sanitary situation on the ship.
