Abstract
The aim of this Regulation is to regulate prepared and canned food. This Regulation is composed of 17 articles and 1 Annex. Articles 1 and 2 deal with terms and definitions. Article 3 prohibits the distribution and importation of unregistered canned and prepared food. Article 3 specifies the food excluded from the provisions of this Regulation. Articles 4-12 provide for the following: (a) establishment of the Registration Committee; (b) competencies of the Committee; (c) registration’s application; (d) requirements and conditions for the registration; (e) issuance of registration certificates; (f) food register; (g) revocation or rejection of registration; and (i) appeals. Article 13 concerns with the importation of food additives. Article 16 contains offences and penalties. Annex I contains the list of allowed food additives.
