Abstract
This standard defines fortified flour for human consumption as cereal flour made by mixing grains such as wheat, maize, corn, or millet with added vitamins, minerals, and other approved nutrients, and requires compliance with the relevant Sudanese standard specifications based on the type of grain used. Fortified flour must include specific levels of vitamins and minerals based on the type of fortificant used and the flour extraction rate, as detailed in the attached nutrient table. Fortified flour must be packed in safe, non-contaminating materials that preserve its quality, and the packaging must display key information including product name, nutrients, dates, weight, and a six-month shelf life from the production date. Sampling and test methodology are dealt with in Articles 7 and 8. The product must be transported in clean, safe vehicles free from contaminants and stored in a well-ventilated, moisture-proof facility that protects it from pests, chemicals, and environmental damage.
