Abstract
This Act contains provisions on: 1) the marketing of infant formula and follow-on formula; and 2) the use of infant formula that has been donated or sold at a discounted price to healthcare and social services. The Act permits marketing of infant formula only in publications specifically focused on infant care and in scientific publications. All other forms of marketing of infant formula are prohibited. The marketing of infant formula and follow-on formula shall provide necessary information about the product's use and must not discourage breastfeeding. It may only include the nutritional and health claims listed in the Annex to this Act, and only if the conditions specified in the Annex are met. When marketing infant formula, it should be emphasized that breastfeeding has advantages, and the use images of infants or any images or texts that could idealize the use of the product are not allowed.
