Abstract
This Act contains provisions regarding an obligation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. Those who are liable to pay taxes according to Chapter 5, Sections 2 and 6 of Act (1994:1776) on Energy Tax, for a fuel subject to reduction obligation are required to fulfill this reduction obligation and must notify the supervisory authority no later than two weeks after the reduction obligation begins. Those who have a reduction obligation for gasoline or diesel must ensure that for each calendar year, the greenhouse gas emissions from the obligated energy amount of such fuels are below the emissions from the corresponding energy amount of fossil gasoline or fossil diesel by at least the percentage indicated in Section 5 for each type of fuel.
