Act relative to public water services (2006:412).

The aim of this Act is to ensure household water supply and discharge in a coordinate manner to safeguard public health and the environment. It defines the duties of municipal authorities to provide for coordinated water services. The Act prescribes general directives for the planning and operation of water supply and discharge installations. It defines the duties of persons in charge of such installations and makes provision with respect to fees for water services. The Government and local authorities shall be responsible for further regulation making in the field of supply of water services and the establishment and operation of installations for the supply and discharge of water. The Act concerns also administrative appeals with the Land and Environmental Court.
