Abstract
The purposes of this Act are: (a) the promotion of animal production and the quality of animals used for production; (b) the prevention of diseases affecting animals; and (c) the development of a long-term strategy for the management and conservation of animal genetic resources.
The Government shall indicate the basic rules of the European Communities that shall supplement the provisions of this Act. The Act assigns regulation-making powers in the fields covered by this Act to the Government and, pursuant to delegation by the Government, to the State Agricultural Agency. Control and inspection shall be carried out by the State Agricultural Agency and county councils.
