Chemical Products Act (1985:426).

This Act applies to the handling, importation and exportation of chemical substances and other preparations. The Act aims at prevention of damage to public health and the environment. "Handling" here means production, processing, treatment, packing, destruction, conversion, marketing and disposal of chemical products (sect. 2). The Act does not apply to products to which the Food Act (SFS 1971:511), the Medicines Act (1992:859), or the Feeding Stuffs Act (1985:295) applies. The Government may issue rules to implement European legislation relative to handling, importation and exportation of chemical products (sect. 4). The Government shall also regulate the notification of activities, permits, etc. It shall also appoint a public body to an authority for the purposes of this Act.
