Decree (1995:1100) with instructions for the Swedish FAO Committee.

This Decree contains rules with instructions for the Swedish FAO Committee. The Swedish FAO Committee's task is to assist the government within the areas of operation of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) with the aim of promoting food security for all people while taking into account sustainable global development and the preservation of biological diversity. The areas of operation are agriculture, fisheries, and forestry. The Committee shall specifically: 1) Advise the government on matters concerning FAO’s activities and Sweden’s participation in these activities; 2) Spread awareness of and generate interest in FAO’s activities; and 3) Cooperate with corresponding national committees in other countries, particularly in the other Nordic countries and European Union member states.
