Abstract
This Decree complements Council Regulation (EC) No 320/2006 of 20 February 2006 establishing a temporary scheme for the restructuring of the sugar industry in the Community, as well as Commission Regulation (EC) No 968/2006 of 27 June 2006 laying down implementing rules for Council Regulation (EC) No 320/2006. Support under this regulation may be provided: 1) For diversification measures in regions affected by the restructuring of the sugar industry, in accordance with Article 6 of Council Regulation (EC) No 320/2006 (diversification support); and 2) To sugar beet growers, associations of sugar beet growers, or associations of sugar beet growers and organizations in Öland and Gotland, where the sugar beet growers cease sugar production as part of the national restructuring in accordance with Article 9 of Council Regulation (EC) No 320/2006 (transitional support).
