Abstract
The present Decree complements the Act (SFS 2009:1424) on the control of protected designations of agricultural products and foodstuffs. It designates the Swedish Food Agency as the competent authority within the ambit of the Decree, specifying its tasks and duties. The Swedish Food Agency may issue regulations on: 1. the obligation of a control authority, a body with delegated tasks, or a natural person with delegated tasks, to provide information to the Agency; 2. the oblation of an organ or person with delegated tasks to provide information and to submit documents to the authority which delegated the task; and 3. the obligation of the person using protected designations of origin to provide information on his activities to a control authority, a body with delegated tasks or a natural person who has been delegated certain task. The Food Agency may also issue more detailed regulations for the enforcement of the Act (SFS 2009:1424) on the control of protected designations of agricultural products and foodstuffs.
