Decree (2024:161) on the reuse of water for irrigation in agriculture.

This Decree contains provisions that complement Regulation (EU) 2020/741 of the European Parliament and of the Council on minimum requirements for water reuse. Anyone who operates or intends to operate an activity referred to in Chapter 28, Section 5 of the Environmental Regulation (2013:251) must develop a risk management plan in accordance with Article 5.3 and 5.4 of Regulation (EU) 2020/741. A final user shall be responsible for ensuring that recycled water used for irrigation in agriculture, as specified in section 1 of Annex I of Regulation (EU) 2020/741, meets the minimum water quality requirements set out in section 2 of Annex I of the same Regulation. The Decree specifies the authorities with responsibilities according to Regulation (EU) 2020/741, and contains rules on notification obligations, exceptions for research or pilot projects, supervision, etc.
