Decree concerning producer responsibility for packing material (2006:1273).

This Decree defines duties and responsibility of producers of packing material in the field of safety and suitability of packing, the ecological qualities of packing and the recycling and disposal of packing waste. The definition “producer of packing material” shall include manufacturers, importers of and traders in packing material and those who sell goods that are into such packing material. Article 3 defines the application sphere of the Decree. Article 4 lays down general use of material in packing. Article 5 requires a producer to develop a collection and recycling system for the packing material placed on the market. Articles 6 to 11 define other duties of producers of packing material. Article 12 concerns municipal waste management plans.
