Decree containing instructions for the Chemical Inspection Agency (SFS 2007:1064).

This Decree defines duties and powers of the State Chemical Inspection Agency. As far as there does not exist another competent authority, the Agency shall be responsible for measures to prevent and reduce risks for public health and the environment in relation with chemicals, products treated with chemical substances and biotechnological organisms.
The Agency shall report on environmental matters to the Environmental Council of the State Nature Conservation Authority. The Agency shall have regulatory powers, shall collaborate internationally and shall have in its organization a council for REACH matters.
