Abstract
This joint Nordic institute which resides in Lund in Sweden shall be responsible for the conservation and documentation of valuable plant material that can be used for cultivation. It shall function also as a service centre to plant breeders and researchers. The Institute shall be managed by a Council. I shall respond to the Nordic Council of Ministers.
