Regulation on infant formulas and supplementary nutrition (LIVSFS 2008:2).

The present Regulation, adopted by the Swedish Food Agency, lays down rules provisions on the composition and labeling of infant formulas and supplemental nutrition formulas intended for use by healthy infants. These provisions complement Regulation (EU) No609/2013. Only the products that meet the requirement of Annex 1 and 2 may be released into the market. The Regulation sets detailed rules on composition; labelling, including of breast milk substitute and supplementary nutritional food; notification oblation, etc.
The Regulation contains the following Annexes: 1. Composition of infant formula, etc.; 2. Composition of supplementary foodstuffs, etc.; 3. Fortification agents; 4. Reference values ​​for essential and conditionally essential amino acids in breast milk; 5. Specification for protein content of breast milk substitutes and supplementary food produced from hydrolysed whey protein; 6. Limit values ​​for certain pesticide residues according to section 7, first paragraph; 7. Pesticides referred to in section 7, second paragraph; 8. Reference values ​​for nutrition declaration of foodfor infants and toddlers; and9. Nutrition and health claims made for breast milk substitute formulas and conditions for the use of such claims.
