Abstract
These Regulations are enacted in accordance with the Carbon Pricing Act 2018.
The Regulations outline the procedures and requirements governing appeals under the Carbon Pricing Act 2018. It specifies the roles of the Secretary, Registrar, and the appeal authority in managing the appeal process. Upon receiving a reply from the appellant, the Secretary or Registrar must forward it to the Agency, unless instructed to defer this action by the Minister if an Appeal Panel is to be established. The appeal authority has the discretion to extend the time limit for lodging replies and may direct the appellant to remedy any defective replies that do not meet the required standards. The hearing of appeals is organized by the Secretary or Registrar, who must provide 14 days' notice to the parties involved.
