Abstract
This Act provides for the establishment of the Energy Market Authority of Singapore and defines its internal organization.
Functions and duties of the Authority include: to create a market framework in respect of the supply of electricity or gas; to promote the development of the electricity and gas industries; to protect the interests of consumers in respect of the quality of electricity supply, gas supply and district cooling services provided; to promote the efficient use of energy utilities; and to exercise licensing and regulatory functions in respect of electricity, gas and district cooling systems and services.
