Abstract
These Regulations prescribe provisions on trade effluent discharge. A licence shall be granted by the Director-General to discharge trade effluent into any watercourse or land (reg. 3). All trade effluents shall be treated before discharged into any watercourse or land and control mechanisms shall be installed. The Director-General may require to submit particulars of trade effluent discharge as listed in regulation 7. The trade effluent discharged into any watercourse or land shall be of the nature or type approved by the Director-General and shall not contain any of the substances listed in regulation 9. Regulation 10 lists the maximum concentrations of certain substances. The remaining part of these Regulations contain penal provisions and provisions of miscellaneous nature.
