Abstract
These Regulations make provisions for the collection of general waste. General waste means refuse or industrial waste, waste from sewerage systems, waste from sanitary conveniences, dangerous substances and toxic wastes which have been treated and rendered harmless. Any individual, in order to collect or transport waste, shall apply for a general waste collector’s licence. Licence fees are set out in regulation 5. No licencee shall collect any waste for recycling unless holding a specific permit which will be issued by the Director-General (reg. 7). Regulations 8 to 10 prescribe which vehicle shall be used for the transportation of different classes of general wastes as classified in the Schedule. Regulations 11 to 15 deal with matters related to the labelling and the cleansing and maintenance of waste collection vehicles. Part IV of the Regulations provide for the disposal of wastes. Part V contains provisions of miscellaneous nature and penal provisions.
