Abstract
No person shall erect, maintain, use, remove or have in his possession any kind of fishing gear except under and in accordance with the terms of a fishing gear licence issued under these Rules (sect. 3). The Director of Fisheries may issue directives relating to fishing gear (sect. 12). The Rules consist of 13 articles and one Schedule.

The Fisheries Rules, 1951 are revoked. These Rules are based on the Fisheries Act (text not available). The Schedule concerning fees has been replaced by a new Schedule by Regulations of 6 October 1988.
