Abstract
An Act to amend the Parks and Trees Act (Chapter 216 of the 2006 Revised Edition) and to make related amendments to the National Parks Board Act (Chapter 198A of the 2012 Revised Edition). The Parks and Trees Act regulates the planting, maintenance and conservation of plants within national parks, nature reserves, tree conservation areas, heritage road green buffers, public parks and other specified areas. The main amendments inserted by the Parks and Trees (Amendment) Act 2017 are the following: the inclusion of marine areas as national parks, and the inclusion of the possibility for Commissioner and authorised officers to enter premises and issue maintenance notices to tree owners to maintain dangerous trees.
