Resource Sustainability Act 2019 (Commencement) Notification 2019.

This Notification clarifies the effective date of the Resource Sustainability Act, which was published on October 4, 2019. Based on this Notification, most sections of the Act came into effect on January 1, 2020. The remaining sections, Part 4 (requirements for packaging) and Section 12 to 17 (requirements for management of electrical and electronic waste) of the Act took effect on July 1, 2020 and July 1, 2021 respectively.
