Abstract
This Act amends the Singapore Tourism (Cess Collection) Act (Chapter 305C of the 1997 Revised Edition). The Singapore Tourism (Cess Collection) Act provides for the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to collect cess from tourist hotels, tourist food establishments and tourist public houses to fund specific strategic tourist events. This amendment clarifies the scope for the imposition of cess and broadens the STB Chief Executive's power to obtain information from all persons or entities that may be liable to pay cess.
