Abstract
The Wildlife (Composition of Offences) Rules 2020 are established under the Wildlife Act (Chapter 351) by the Minister for National Development. The primary purpose of these Rules is to outline the procedures for compounding specific wildlife offences, thereby facilitating the enforcement of wildlife protection laws. According to Rule 2, offences under sections 5A(3), 5B(3), 5C(3), 7(3), 8(3), 9(3), or 10(4) of the Wildlife Act can be compounded by the Director-General or an authorized officer, in accordance with section 12K of the Act. Additionally, Rule 3 revokes the previous Wild Animals and Birds (Composition of Offences) Order 2005.
