Abstract
The objective of this Act is to ensure coexistence of genetically modified plants with other agricultural plants and to avoid the unintended presence of genetically modified organisms in genetically modified agricultural plants or crops. This Act sets out the application process for the cultivation of genetically modified plants, specifies how to establish areas for the cultivation of genetically modified plants and areas free of genetically modified plants. These provisions govern also professional training of the producers of genetically modified crops, management of the register of genetically modified plants as well as records of areas of the cultivation of genetically modified plants and records of areas free of genetically modified plants, and procedures for claiming compensation for damage caused by the presence of genetically modified organisms in plants and crops. This Act is composed of 34 articles divided into the following Sections: General provisions (Sec. 1); Application for cultivation of genetically modified plants (Sec. 2); Areas of the cultivation of genetically modified plants (Sec. 3); Areas free of genetically modified plants (Sec. 4); Professional training (Sec. 5); Register and records (Sec. 6); Compensation (Sec. 7); Monitoring (Sec. 8); Monitoring of the implementation of the provisions (Sec. 9); Penalty provisions (Sec. 10).
