Abstract
The Slovenian Action Program for alternative fuels in traffic for the years 2022 and 2023 is a thematic planning document which addresses issues and obligations deriving form framework policies and international commitments in pollution control and climate change, here in relation to necessary gradual reduction of energy use by increasing energy efficiency and switching to low-emission vehicles (that use compressed natural gas and hydrogen and other synthetic fuels), which is underlined as basic objective and issue of key importance for general emission reduction and improved environmental sustainability. Walking and cycling also contribute to sustainable mobility, so we will actively promote the construction of cycling and pedestrian infrastructure. In this way, Slovenia will provide the population with easy, fast, green and non-invasive transport for the environment and city centers in the last kilometers. The goal is to reduce the number of trips by private car (now 67% of trips) and significantly increase the number of trips on foot, by bicycle or public passenger transport. Estimated trajectory for the sectoral share of energy from renewable sources in final energy consumption from 2020 to 2030 in the transport sector.
