Abstract
This Act determines the public interest of the Republic of Slovenia in the field of promotion of agricultural and food products, types and forms of promotion, promotion planning, promotion financing, promotion contribution, collection, management and collection of personal and other data on taxpayers, bodies and advisory bodies for the promotion, implementation of professional tasks and supervision over the implementation of rules here stipulated. The public interest in the field of promotion is mainly realized by: systemic financing, planning and implementation of promotion; improving consumer information on production and processing and on the quality, safety, specific characteristics and nutritional benefits of agricultural and food products; consolidating consumer competences when deciding to purchase agricultural and food products with independent, credible information; encouraging the participation of agricultural producers, food processing companies, their representative organizations and the state in the planning, financing and implementation of promotion; strengthening the competitiveness of agri-food in the Republic of Slovenia; increasing the sale of Slovenian agricultural and food products to consumers; promoting local production and consumption.
