The Basis for the preparation of the assessment of risks and opportunities that climate change bring for Slovenia is a national strategic document aimed as guidelines for the elaboration of climate change adaptation planning documents and specific policies. Adaptation aims to reduce risks and harm from current and future adverse effects of climate change in a way that is cost-effective or takes advantage of potential benefits. The starting climate indicator and one of the key indicators of climate change is the temperature of the atmosphere above the earth's surface. The change in global temperature depends on many natural geographical factors, but it is becoming increasingly clear that it is also significantly influenced by emissions from anthropogenic activities. Each sector has its own collection of impacts and consequences of climate change. Based on these alone, the vulnerability assessment of the individual sector and then the region is determined. Exposure and sensitivity are taken into account when assessing vulnerability - this is how possible impacts are determined.
