Abstract
The Slovenian Brown bear (Ursus arctos) management strategy for the period from the year 2019 until the year 2028 (which also contains the Action Plan for the management of the brown bear (Ursus arctos) in Slovenia for the period 2019-2023) covers the following chapters: basic characteristics of a brown bear; brown bear in Slovenia and neighboring countries; regulations governing the protection of the brown bear; analysis of the threat of the brown bear population and its habitat; analysis of existing conservation measures; definition of conservation goals; definition of strategic activities necessary to achieve conservation goals. With the strategy, taking into account the international commitments of the Republic of Slovenia, the national administration wants to ensure the conditions for the permanent preservation of the bear in Slovenia and the existence of a population that will be in harmony with the environment and the use of space, as well as its re-expansion into the European area.
