Abstract
This Decree here stipulates (in accordance with Council Directive 97/70/EC setting up a harmonized safety regime for fishing vessels of 24 metres in length and over), the general safety requirements for sea fishing vessels. These rules shall apply to new fishing vessels and, as far as Annex I, which is an integral part of this text, stipulates it, to existing fishing vessels flying the Slovenian flag. These rules will further apply to the ships that sail under the flag of a member state of the European Community, and foreign fishing boats, regardless of the flag under which they sail, if: they fish in internal sea waters or the territorial sea of the Republic of Slovenia; or they land their catch in a Slovenian port.
The Annex is also part of this text (Annex I: Requirements for the construction and equipment of fishing vessels; and Annex II: Form of certificate of conformity, exemption certificates and list of equipment).
