Decree on the sustainability criteria for biofuels and greenhouse gas emissions.

This Decree, based on the provisions of the Slovenian Environmental protection Act, determines sustainability and greenhouse gas emission saving criteria for biofuels, bioliquids for energy purposes and biomass fuels, by providing: obligation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the life cycle of fuels used in transport; sustainability criteria for biofuels; verification of compliance with sustainability criteria for biofuels and issuance of accompanying certificates; use of a system of mass balance of raw materials or biofuels, and biomass fuels used in transport, with different sustainability criteria in the joint supply; methodology for calculating and saving greenhouse gas emissions over the life cycle of fuels used in transport; obligation for annual suppliers of fuels to report on the emission intensity and amount of greenhouse gas emissions from fuels and energy used in transport. This text is in accordance with several EU legislative documents as listed in article 1.
