International activities of Slovenia within the Sendai framework for disaster risk reduction for the period 2015-2020.

The International activities of Slovenia within the Sendai framework for disaster risk reduction for the period 2015-2020 are aimed at effort the commitments of the international framework policy which sets seven global objectives to be achieved until 2030 and 4 priorities for achieving these objectives. The Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief serves as a national point for the Sendai framework in Slovenia and is successfully involved in international activities in this area, which has also been identified by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction for Europe and Central Asia – UN DRR. In the last period, Slovenian representatives have been invited to actively participate and present their experience at global events in the context of the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. In 2015, also the Agenda 2030 with sustainable development goals and the Paris Climate Agreement were adopted besides the aforementioned agreement. Interconnectedness and coherence of all three agreements represents a commitment and hope that life on our planet will someday be more friendly, sustainable and safe for its inhabitants.
