Law on Triglav National Park.

This Law establishes the Triglav national park, determines its area, protection areas, rules of conduct and protection regimes. This text further sets out the manner of managing the national park, participation of public and residents of the national park in the management, issues regarding local communities in the national park, financing, supervision, sanctions and other actions related to the goals and purposes of the preservation and sustainable use of the Triglav national park.
This national park shall be established and managed with the aim to preserve the uniqueness of natural, cultural, landscape and spiritual values; to give priority to nature conservation through preserved ecosystems and natural processes, biodiversity together with the quality and diversity of landscapes; to preserve the cultural heritage and cultural monuments and natural resources in the central part of the Julian Alps; to preserve the historical and symbolic significance of the national park area; to enable development (sustainable development) in the area of the national park that is harmonized with natural and created conditions and values; to enable the preservation of settlements and the provision of an adequate quality of life to the inhabitants of the national park by developing social, cultural and economic activities and reducing the existing ones and preventing additional burdens on the environment; to enable research, awareness, visiting and experiencing the national park. The National Park is intended for: priority protection of the ecological integrity of ecosystems in the national park and prevention of interventions and activities that could endanger it; maintaining the balance between natural processes and human activity in order to preserve the landscape characteristic of the national park area as an element of traditional land use; protection and knowledge of natural, landscape, cultural and spiritual values and integrated preservation of cultural heritage; promoting sustainable development and maintaining settlements; enabling visits for scientific, educational, recreational, tourist and spiritual purposes, all if compatible with listed objectives of Triglav Slovenain national park.
