Abstract
This Order here establishes the necessary plant protection measures aimed to prevent the spread and to suppress the outbreak of ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia L.) and other neophyte species from the genus Ambrosia (noxious plant). This text also defines the rules regarding specially controlled areas of noxious plant, among relevant costs and obligations of landowners. Harmful plants are especially the following types of ragweed: wormwood ambrosia (Ambrosia artemisiifolia); three-cornered ragweed (Ambrosia trifida); sea ragweed (Ambrosia maritima) and perennial ragweed (Ambrosia coronopifolia). A specially controlled area is the entire territory of the Republic of Slovenia. In a special controlled area, the owner of the land on which the harmful plant grows must take the following measures to prevent the spread and control the harmful plant: remove harmful plants with roots or remove their aerial part in such a way that the harmful plant does not re-grow during this growing season; and carry out further regular observations of land during the growing season until the end of September. The removal of the harmful plant is carried out at the expense of the owner of the land.
